We first tested the use case for this special dagger back in 2011.
We were deep Rocky Mountains training for singleton ops & Longterm widlerness survival.
I was always taught a man without a knife, is a man without a life. So with that in mind, regardless of where I am, I've always carried a blade as a backup option for general personal protection.
On this trip, I had my primary, secondary & about 20lbs of gear.
Even with that amount of kit, I made sure to keep my SideKick on my left hip (opposite side of my shooting hand).
As we hiked for days we were totally beat but on day 3, deep in the backcountry is when it happened late in the afternoon. We heard the howls and we knew what it was: wolves.
A pack of them to be exact.
We were surrounded quickly by 5 and when the big boy came in for the kill I was able to deploy my secondary pistol and take it out.

I was unable to retrive the blade as the animal took off with it but it did it's job and covered my weak side and most importantly -- Everyone got home safe and The SideKick earned it's stripes that day.
